Karina Rykman
A fantastic fusion of funk, pop, and extended trippy jams -- major points for freshness and oginality! Karina is an amazing bass player and most songs are vibrantly bass-forward. Trey Anastasio produced her one excellent album out so far. Her vocals are great and versatile as well. Would rate her awesome except for the (currently) small catalog. Renee Rapp
Talented singer and actress ventures into many variations of pop. Can pull off the blues convincingly. Lots of energy.

Tate Mcray
Not a great voice, but this pop is okay for those looking for churned out commercial earcandy. Annoyingly overcute pronunciations.

Sammy Adams
Sellout pop aimed at young ladies, with a tiny bit of a country vibe thrown in occasionally. Tinny production.

The Teskey Brothers
Solid gravelly voiced retro style soul/blues from 2 Australian brothers - one sings, one plays lead guitar. Production is kind of tinny.

Daffo
Very personal indie folk-rock with excellent lyrics. Well produced. Can be explicit. They/them please. Click here for Apple Music playlist

Explosions in the Sky
Spacey instrumental atmospheric prog rock jams. Songs are very similar, and very repetitive. Not unsurprisingly, their tracks have been used often in soundtracks.

Blackwater Holylight
All female gothic drone/shoegaze metal band with soft parts scattered in, and beautiful vocals. Remarkable how they can create compelling songs with so few choruses and guitar solos! Click here for Apple Music playlist

Volbeat
Metallica meets Bon Jovi. Interesting blend of hard rock styles from this trio. Good vocals. Check out "Still Counting" and "A Warrior's Call" Click here for Apple Music playlist

Hail the Sun
Angsty punk-influenced rock. Lyrics are intended to be profound and meaningful. Vocals are not easy listening.
Jan 23

Wind Walkers
Super overproduced angsty emo pop disguised as rock. Big choruses paired with sparer verses. Very few bridges. So much echo it sounds like a wind tunnel in a sewer.

Greet Death
Poetic alternative death rock? Slower tempos; sometimes plodding. Devastatingly bleak lyrics but the tunes are melodic. Check out "Din in Love" and "Country Girl."

Maruja
Experimental rock with guitars, sax, and aggressive vocals, plus some slow melodic parts thrown in. Would be Meh, but points for originality.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Modern takes on Christmas songs and other standards incorporating electric guitars, synths etc. Some takes are stright-up traditional also.

Adam Doleac
Slick, poppy contemporary country. Very nice voice. Won't offend or interest anyone too much.

Tara Lily
Sleek, sultry pop with unique, jazzy vocals. Like an updated Portishead sound. Good beats. One album out. Click here for Apple Music playlist

New Jazz Underground
Very tasteful and despite their name, fairly traditional jazz, done wonderfully by this trio, with guest vocalists. One album out. Click here for Apple Music playlist
