Kim Churchill
Australian guy does mostly uptempo pop with little flavors of folk and blues and similar genres. Good lightly scratchy voice. Might be too much echo in the production.

Short Fictions
Guitar-noodle-riff alternative rock. The thin timbre vocals may be an acquired taste, but we like them fine. Sense of humor.

Home Is Where
This may seem like a stretch, but if Public Image Limited were an American punk rock band, they might sound like Home Is Where, with their droning scream-talk vocals and lengthy, oddly enjoyable grooves. If you don't believe us check out "Floral Organs." We couldn't find a single bridge - just verses and choruses, with choruses often being just an extension of the verse. Uniquely themselves. Sonata Arctica
Long-time Finnish band creates cheesy prog rock alternating between acoustic and heavy metal parts. Mostly midtempo but last album (2024) is berserk speedy.

Westerman
If you like Beck's mellower, contemplative tracks, you may also like Westerman's artsy pop, full of echoes and watercolor lyrics.

Nicholas Jamerson
Fine country-folk. Nice twangy voice. Some pretty funky tracks, too ("Sleepin' in the Woods").

Crush++
Another heavy-ish band that mixes abject screaming with actual singing. Angsty themes. We like it better without the screaming.

I Promised The World
Rhythm-forward hard rock blending gross growling vocals with regular ones. Angsty & angry. Feels like they're just throwing different song pieces together.

Your Spirit Dies
Monotone screaming metal-core. The gymnastic musicianship is the star of the show. Better vocals would make a huge difference.

Evan Honer
Bleak acoustic folk-country tunes filled with self-pity and regret, with a recurring theme of alcoholism. The quivery voice thing we dislike so much surfaces at times, but is mercifully infrequent

Bishop Allen
Quirky alternative pop. Well crafted songs, but most folks probably won't want to come back for second listens. Production is mid.

Jeremy Zucker
Vibrato voiced, Jack Johnson style acoustic music, just much poppier and nowhere near as enjoyable.

Explosions in the Sky
Spacey instrumental atmospheric prog rock jams. Songs are very similar, and very repetitive. Not unsurprisingly, their tracks have been used often in soundtracks.

Cecilia Castleman
Soft acoustic music, soft voice, soft lyrics. Guitar playing is just ok.
